About

Welcome to my Mommy and Us blog site!

HI! My name is Kristin and I’m a new stay at home wife and mommy and hobby blogger. This is something that I never thought I would do because… I am an introvert. I’m pretty much a private, quiet person and keep to myself in new environments (however, once I get to know you I can talk your ear off). I guess this is one reason why I’m starting this blog, because there could be people like me and hopefully they will see that there are other people in the world like this. (well, at least I hope I’m not the only person like this.)

Anyway, I enjoy spending time with my family (most of the time 😜), pinning things on Pinterest for my family and I to try (like preschool/baby activities, food, and home beautification), binge watching NCIS from season one to the most current season (for like the 10th time 😳) while eating Hershey’s cookies n cream drops, and watching tv with my family (mostly the local news, Wheel of Fortune, and the Voice).

I live in the beautiful state of Hawaii 🏝 with my husband, Matthew, and two darling daughters, MJ and ER 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧. Matthew and I graduated from high school the same year but went to different schools in the state. We didn’t know each other in high school, but may have “seen” each other and not know it because we both participated in the same extracurricular activities in high school. As it turns out, he knew some of my teammates. (How dare he not know of me!)

Anyway, we met (many, many years after high school) through mutual friends, a sweet couple (he worked with the husband and I worked with the wife), and the rest is history. We got married 👰🏻🤵🏻, became parents several years later to our first darling daughter MJ, and became parents again about two and a half years later to our second darling daughter ER.

Before becoming a stay at home wife and mommy, I was a teacher 👩🏻‍🏫 for ten years. The first five years I worked at a private childcare center with two year old children and the last five years at a public elementary school in first and second grade. I enjoyed working with the young children and see them grow physically, emotionally, socially, and academically.

However, after becoming a mommy to my first darling daughter, I found it challenging to keep up with all the demands of teaching and being a mommy. I would either put all my focus into work or into my family. It was hard for me to find a balance being a working mommy. I know in the two years I was a working mommy, my family and students suffered having an “absent” mommy and teacher.

After finding out we were expecting our second child, Matthew and I decided it would be best if I stayed home with the girls. So I said farewell, for now, to my teaching career and set off on a new journey as a stay at home wife and mommy.

And now… here I am… Starting off on my blogging 👩🏻‍💻 adventure to chronicle my “new” life as a stay at home wife and mommy. I’m hoping to keep a tab of things my family and I do in the areas of education, health, and creativity also including weekly TWT’s (This Week’s Thought) on random thoughts I have during the week; while practicing my writing 📝 skills (writing has never been a strong skill for me, as you can probably tell).

If you have any advice on how to help me improve my life’s journey or make my writing more enjoyable for readers, please feel free to let me know by leaving comments.

Thank you for stopping by.

Kristin

oh yeah… I’m very new to blogging so please be patient with me as I try to find the best time to write (or type) my posts. Did mention I am a mommy of two girls? Yeah… I need to take care of them and my hubby first. So the plan is to post one blog a week. I’ll post more often when I get more efficient with my writing and have a “consistent” schedule. But until then, journey through my blog at your own pace.
